December in Sherwood, 1992
Johannes' first outing as an event steward (he still used the term "autocrat" back then) was for the 1992 Lyondemere Yuletide Revel. We introduced some changes at that event, including an alternate format for the gift exchange (the prior one was starting to take the bulk of the time we had to party). Everyone also had the opportunity to help replenish the food bank of the Redondo Beach First Babtist Church (the event site), instead of paying a site fee. Johannes' gift was to make up the difference between the site fees we collected and the cost of using the church hall.
The biggest single event of the, er, event, was the play, "December in Sherwood" and the general intoduction of plays into our Yuletide revels. Penned primarily by Sorcha and Katherine, with help from others, this was the first outing of the "Not Ready for Anytime Players," though they were not yet so named. The hallmark of this group is a constantly rotating membership, with a few long-term members for "stability," and a total lack of preparation and rehearsal?this makes for some very interesting performances.
There was some issues dealing with the the bill, but with some creative accounting we were able to handle it.
